FPSB Releases 2023 Annual Report Highlighting Key Achievements Impacting Global Financial Planning Profession

DENVER, COLO – 26 June 2024 – The global leader in the financial planning profession, Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB) is pleased to announce the release of its 2023 Annual Report. The report showcases strategic initiatives and accomplishments undertaken by FPSB and its global network of organizations to strengthen the global financial planning profession and drive growth of the CFP professional community.

“We are delighted to present our Annual Report for 2023 that highlights our collective accomplishments with our global network to establish, uphold and promote worldwide professional standards in financial planning through CFP certification,” said FPSB CEO Dante De Gori, CFP. “FPSB underwent a transformative year in 2023 as we not only continued to grow our global CFP professional community but made significant strides in strengthening the profession and raising public awareness of the value of financial planning. Looking ahead, we’re dedicated to seeing CFP certification continue to grow to help more people around the world access financial planners who have committed to competency and ethical standards and placing clients’ interests first.”

The Annual Report provides a detailed account of various initiatives and progress undertaken by FPSB. Key highlights of the report include:

  • Leadership: New Chief Executive Officer of FPSB assumed role on 1 January 2023.
  • Strategy: Launch of updated FPSB strategic framework to leverage strengths and sharpen organizational focus to align with vision and mission towards 2030. The FPSB Strategy embodies Financial Planning Professionals, Partnerships, Standards & Certification, Brand & Awareness.
  • Growth: Global CFP professional community grew by 5.1% to 223,770 CFP professionals to meet growing consumer demand for financial planning advice as well as expanded market presence to strengthen global footprint, including the launch of CFP certification into Italy.
  • Strengthening the profession: Updated global financial planning standards to reflect changing client needs and expectations as well as the evolving practice of financial planning; supported global financial services regulatory efforts as an affiliate member of International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO); and hosted 50 meetings with leadership from FPSB’s global network of organizations to propel excellence in financial planning.
  • Building awareness: Hosted the seventh annual World Financial Planning Day with the release of landmark global consumer research findings on the value of financial planning to raise public awareness.
