FPSB’s Board of Directors is responsible for guiding FPSB’s administration of its public interest mission and vision; developing governing policies that address the broadest levels of all organizational decisions and situations; identifying needs and advocating on behalf of FPSB’s membership; and overseeing organizational performance and providing strategic guidance to FPSB’s CEO.

    Caroline Dabu

    With over 25 years of experience in wealth management, Caroline Dabu is Principal at VSGS Advisory Services, Inc. and specializes in driving transformational business strategies focused on improving and strengthening the quality of financial and wealth advice for individuals and families.

    She spent over two decades with BMO Financial Group, leading teams in both Canada and the U.S. and established BMO Financial Group’s Wealth Advisory Services team to provide the full range of HNW Planning Services including advanced financial planning, tax, estate and insurance advisory services to successful families and individuals. Dabu has also held senior roles in Wealth Management spanning distribution and including leading the Marketing & Client Strategy teams for the BMO’s wealth businesses.

    Dabu is an experienced board member having chaired both non-profit and for-profit boards. She has served on the board of the Financial Planning Standards Council of Canada (now FP Canada) and currently serves on the board of the Canadian Centre for Financial Planning, an organization focused on improving access to financial planning advice. Dabu also has the ESG designation (GCB.D) focused on board governance and oversight around sustainability.

    She holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Carleton University.

    Eunice Chan, Chartered Banker, CFP, IFP, has more than 28 years of experience in the banking, mutual fund management, securities and trust services, Wealth Management & Private Banking, and financial planning industries. She currently serves as Senior Director, Head, Sales Distribution Network, Maybank Asset Management, Maybank Global Banking Group. A long-standing leader in the financial planning profession, she has played a key role in strategic expansion and business growth of wealth management business in Malaysian market.

    Chan is renowned for her extensive transformation efforts, including leading a strategic wealth management business franchise operating model design, digital wealth planning, and developing reward and remuneration structures for Wealth Management franchises.

    Previously, Chan served as a Board member, EXCO member and Treasurer of Financial Planning Association of Malaysia for nine years. She is an advocate for financial literacy and is passionate about personal financial experience in the community. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration degree from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.

    Marcia Dessen, CFP

    Brazil

    Marcia Dessen, CFP, brings a wealth of experience from a distinguished 24-year career with Citibank, where she held leadership roles in the treasury and asset management divisions. Dessen founded her own company in 1994, becoming a recognized name in professional development, strategy, and leadership.

    In 2014, she began a new path as an independent financial planner. She was also a founding board member of Planejar, FPSB’s affiliate in Brazil, serving from 2000 to 2024 on its Administration Board and as coordinator of the Certification Commission.

    Between 2010 and 2022, Dessen published two books and wrote a weekly personal finance column for one of Brazil’s largest newspapers, contributing to greater financial awareness in society.

  • Yu Gao

    Yu Gao

    China

    Yu Gao has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry in the U.S. and Asia. He has held several leadership roles with Morgan Stanley Asia Ltd. including Co-CIO, Asia Private Equity; Member of China Management Committee; Chairman of Investment Committee of RMB Fund; and Managing Director, Investment Management. In addition, he has extensive international leadership experience serving as chairman / vice chairman of companies focused on global expansion including Nissos Holdings and REGEN Biotech, Inc.

    Amyr Rocha Lima, CFP, has nearly 20 years of experience in financial planning and wealth management.

    Based in the United Kingdom, Lima currently serves as Managing Director at Strategic Wealth Partners. Championing the advancement of the financial planning profession in the UK, he also serves as a member of Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments (CISI) Board, People & Remuneration Committee, and was previously chairman of CISI’s Financial Planning Forum.

    Jan Gunnar Karsten, CFP, CFA, has more than 30 years of experience in the Wealth Management/Asset Management industry. From 2016 to 2022, he served as CEO of Julius Baer Family Office the largest MFO in Brazil, recently sold to BTG Pactual.

    He is currently a partner and CEO of Brainvest Brazil, a company headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.

    Karsten holds a degree in Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas and a master’s degree in Economics (strictu senso) from the same university. He also has a course in Strategy from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) and holds the CFP and CFA certifications. Karsten is currently a member of the advisory board of Integral, one of the largest Brazilian Asset Managers in Private Debt and a member of the Investment Committee of Visão Prev, the second largest private pension fund in Brazil.

    Darren McShane, an experienced public policy professional from Australia, is a consultant who works with financial services regulators and industry participants on issues such as disclosure, pension system design, investment regulation, risk and compliance.

    He has an extensive work history with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) in Hong Kong, as well as with the International Organization of Pension Supervisors (IOPs) based in France. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Queensland and a Master of Laws degree from the University of Sydney.

    Amy Richardson, CFP, has more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. She serves as Director of Advisory Services at TCI Wealth Advisors, where she is responsible for strategic oversight of the firm’s advisory organization and client relationship initiatives across all offices. In this role, she leads advisor development and performance management, drives business development priorities and establishes standards for wealth management and planning excellence. She also defines and directs TCI’s client experience strategy to ensure consistency, quality, and long-term value for clients. As a member of the senior leadership team, she plays a key role in enterprise planning and firm strategy.

  • Colin Slabach, Ph.D., CFP

    Colin Slabach, Ph.D., CFP

    United States

    Colin Slabach, Ph.D., CFP, is a Clinical Assistant Professor at New York University, where he teaches and develops programs in financial planning. He previously served as Professor of Retirement at The American College of Financial Services and as Assistant Director at the Center for Retirement Income.

    With extensive experience in financial education and program development, Slabach has played a key role in advancing financial planning curricula both in the United States and abroad. He is deeply committed to fostering diversity in the profession and preparing the next generation of financial planners to engage with clients in a global, cross-cultural context.

    In addition to his academic work, Slabach serves on the advisory board of the fintech company Tolerisk and on the Texas Tech University Alumni Advisory Board.

    Chief Executive Officer

    Dante De Gori, CFP, is the Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB).

    Prior to this, De Gori served as chief executive officer of the Financial Planning Association of Australia (now known as FAAA) – the financial planning professional body in Australia.

    De Gori has more than 20 years of experience in financial services working in various senior roles within financial planning and compliance. He also served for six years as Director of the Future2Foundation, the charity foundation of the financial planning profession in Australia.

    De Gori was awarded the Association Influencer of the Year 2022 by the Australasian Society of Association Executives (AuSAE).

    He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (finance and marketing), a graduate certificate in politics and policy, a diploma in financial planning, has completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course (2021), and is currently completing a Master of Laws at the Australian National University.

    A proud CFP professional, De Gori is passionate about advancing the financial planning profession and supporting CFP professionals around the globe.

    As CEO, De Gori is a non-voting member of FPSB’s Board of Directors.
