The Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA) is Australia’s leading professional association for financial advisers, and advocates for the interests of financial advisers and their clients across the country.
The FAAA was formed in April 2023, from a merger of the Financial Planning Association of Australia Limited (FPA) and the Association of Financial Advisers Limited (AFA). The FPA and the AFA were the two largest and longest-standing associations of financial planners and advisers in Australia. Our history as a combined association dates back over 75 years.
The FAAA offers the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification program exclusively in Australia, with almost 5,000 current members.

A membership and certification/standards-setting body, the Japan Association for Financial Planners was established in November 1987, and introduced CFP certification to Japan in May 1992. JAFP’s purpose is to promote financial planning to the general public and to support practitioners in their journey to become financial planners.

Formed in 1999, FPAM is a nonprofit organization with a mission to raise the standards of competency and ethical practice of qualified financial planners in Malaysia, and to educate the public on the benefits of financial planning. The Federation of Financial Planners (FFP) is the professional organization for financial planners in The Netherlands, and offers the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification program in addition to the FFP quality mark.With approximately 4,000 members, the FFP is the largest European organization of financial planners. FPSB Nederland, which first offered CFP certification in the territory in 2009, merged with FFP in 2015.

Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI)
The Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) is the professional body of choice for professionals in the securities and investment industry in the U.K. and in a growing number of major financial centers globally. The Institute of Financial Planning (IFP), which served as the founding Member of FPSB in the U.K., merged with Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) in November 2015. CISI now administers the CFP certification program in the U.K. Its goal is to bring the highest standards of professionalism to all areas of the financial services industry and provide additional strength and an even greater presence in the financial planning sector.
