10th Annual World Financial Planning Day Returns to Inspire People to Build Strong Financial Futures
FPSB and its global network invite people everywhere to discover the life-changing impact of financial planning during World Financial Planning Day on 7 October 2026
DENVER, COLO – 28 July 2026 – Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB) and its global network are pleased to announce that World Financial Planning Day (WFPD) will take place on 7 October 2026. Held as part of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) World Investor Week, the 10th annual global campaign encourages people everywhere to see financial planning as a powerful tool for turning hopes into goals, and goals into action. By highlighting the benefits of working with a financial planning professional to create a holistic financial plan, World Financial Planning Day helps individuals and families take meaningful steps toward greater financial confidence, resilience and well-being.
“As we mark 10 years of celebrating World Financial Planning Day, we’re reminded that financial planning is not just about money, it’s about helping people create the life they want to live,” said FPSB CEO Dante De Gori, CFP. “Whether someone is planning for everyday expenses, a major life milestone or long-term security, having a financial plan can bring clarity and confidence in achieving goals. This campaign is about inspiring people everywhere to take that first step toward a brighter financial future and to connect with a financial planner to build a roadmap to reach life goals.”
Last year, World Financial Planning Day reached an estimated global audience of more than 231 million people through media coverage, financial education events and social media, with organizations in 22 territories around the world supporting the campaign. Building on that momentum, this year’s campaign will once again bring together FPSB’s global network and CFP professional community to help more people understand how financial planning can support informed decisions, reduce financial stress and open the door to opportunities. Events and programs will be featured on the WFPD website in September.
“People around the world are facing rising financial pressure and more complex decisions, making financial planning more important than ever,” added De Gori. “By aligning World Financial Planning Day with IOSCO’s World Investor Week, we want to help individuals and families take actionable steps to make informed financial decisions, avoid misleading information and protect their financial future.”
“World Financial Planning Day and World Investor Week are united by a shared goal: helping people make informed financial decisions, work toward their life goals and better protect their future,” said IOSCO Secretary General Rodrigo Buenaventura. “As we mark the 10th edition of our dual campaigns, we encourage individuals to stay informed, remain vigilant and recognize that financial planning can help turn financial decisions into a clearer path toward reaching their life goals.”
“At the heart of World Financial Planning Day and World Investor Week is the belief that better financial outcomes begin with better understanding,” said IOSCO Committee on Retail Investors Chair Camille Beaudoin. “By promoting the value of financial planning and raising awareness of scams and digital deception, our campaigns aim to help people become more confident, resilient and equipped to navigate financial decisions with care.”
